The video states some wrong information. The wires thatr are used on 100mb net work are 1,2,3, and 6. So the \"main pair\" should be orange and green.

Reply to #4: It depends on whether you are wiring for TIA-568A or 568B.. The wiring scheme this video is using is TIA-568B.
Check this information for more detail: http://www.ablecables.com.au/568avb.htm

what a freakin joke, get a pair of wire strippers! Do it like a professional, they cost $10USD at Home Depot, get the ones for Stranded wire even though Cat5E cable is solid. Using that stupid little razor will nick the wires inside the jacket although you may not see it. 8 times out of 10! Just so everyone knows that i'm not just blasting the video, I'm a Network Tech / Computer Service Tech / and Low Voltage Contractor! I think I know a little bit about wires! ;-)

Reply to #6: \"get a pair of wire strippers...get the ones for Stranded wire even though Cat5E cable is solid\". Wrong on two points. First, C5e is available in stranded and solid cable. Second, there is no such thing as a stranded jacket cutter vs. a solid jacket cutter. Oh yeah, it's not called a \"wire stripper\" either.

DSL utilizes existing copper telephone wire connections to properties but is always on, so you will not need to dial up in order to use the Internet and it will not tie up your telephone.
