Things to look at. (Answer each portion honestly and completely):
    Manpower and delegation of duties
    Budget or lack thereof
worst case scenarios - blood on the floor, fires start, police involvement, etc.
SAFETY SAFETY SAFETY!!!!! (for customers !!!especially!!!, for security, for your own, for the equipment, for the venue, and for the planet, roughly in that order) See also liability concerns

And the scariest one of all. What if no one shows up?

Have a plan for each of these. Write it down. Tell the people who are working for you about it. Remind them constantly. No other thing matters as much as safety - voice of experience. Do not overload a venue. Make sure you have enough bathrooms for the crowd. You may lose a few bucks if you turn people away, but it's better than people getting seriously hurt or even killed if something goes horribly wrong.

Lots of people in a confined space can be dangerous. One fight breaks out, one cigarette dropped in the wrong place, one toilet backs up, or one wire shorts out, and it is pandemonium. Have a plan, and make sure people know about it.
