    Interesting recipe. I'm eager to try this. One quick tip on splitting the vanilla bean... It works better if you insert the knife in the top of the bean with the blade pointing toward you and grabbing the bean and pulling it through the knife keeping the point of the blade stationary on the cutting board. Eliminates the risk of cutting yourself and you can control the cut better.
