SolidWorks Lesson: COSMOS Stress definitions (Physics)
This lesson defines normal (axial) stress and shear stress. Normal Stress is defined a Force per unit area. Normal stress occurs when a force is applied perpendicular to the cross section of an object. Shear stress occurs along or parallel to the surface. Both components of stress make up von Mises stress. Stress and deflection are illustrated with COSMOSXpress analysis software. When the material changes from Steel to Aluminum, the deflection and safety factor also changes. Material properties such as Elastic Modulus, Poisson's Ratio, Yield Strength and Density play a role in deflection and stress of linear elastic materials. This is a SolidWorks Lesson Plan and Tutorial developed by Marie Planchard for use by Students, Eductors and Teachers for Instruction and Demonstration to reinforce Education of SolidWorks 3D CAD Mechanical Engineering Design Software. Tutorial - illustrating a character in Photoshop CS3
This is a small tutorial on how i create an illustration from scratch in photoshop CS3 with a Wacom Intuos 3 tablet. Here I explain the brush settings I use and a cheap and fast skin-tone technique I use a lot for 3D textures.
The actual illustration took about 6-8 hours.
