The Live Web Teaching plugin adds a virtual classroom web conferencing system to your Moodle. It allows you to:

  • Show documents and presentations, with integrated whiteboard
  • Allow other participants to share their documents - and desktop

    System Requirements
    With the Live Web Teaching plugin, people can participate in live sessions from any PC or Mac with an Internet connection. No downloads or installations are needed.

    Recommended requirements are:

    All Participants:
    1) Browser: Firefox (recommended), Chrome, Safari, IE
    2) Flash: latest version, most browsers come with Flash
    3) Internet Connection: high speed connection like DSL, ADSL and Cable
    4) RAM: 1 GB or higher

    Teachers:
    Webcam, microphone, headset: Any work! However, to achieve good video and audio quality use a good webcam, micro and headset. We recommend these.
    Sessions can be conducted with audio only!

    Students:
    1) Microphone & headset: Needed if student wants to speak during a session.
    2) Webcam: Needed if student wants to be seen in a session.
How to teach a live from Moodle?
As a Moodle Teacher:
  1. Teachers easily create & start live sessions! No registration at Sclipo required!
  2. 1. In any course, select the activity Live Web Teaching
  3. 2. Name the live session
  4. 3. Initiate the session by clicking on the session name that shows in the course

How to learn in a live session from Moodle?
As a Moodle Student:
  1. Students join live sessions in one click! No registration at Sclipo required!
  2. 1. Enter a course, in which a live session is scheduled
  3. 2. Click on the name of the live session
  4. 3. You will automatically enter the live room (virtual classroom)

How to install the plugin?
As a Moodle Administrator:
  1. Install the plugin in just a minute!
  2. 1. Unzip and upload the folder /mod/ to the directory: moodle/mod/
  3. 2. Upload the language file in folder /lang/ to the directory: moodle/lang/
  4. 3. Log in to Moodle as Administrator, click on Notifications and then Continue
  5. 4. Enter the API Key and Username and click Save
