Video is not working! Why?
In the Live Web Teaching Room: You must click on the camera icon on the top left, and allow the Flash Player to access your camera.
In this system test: If you cannot see your video (above), your camera does not work or is not detected by the Flash Player. Check the following:
- If you are using an external camera, is it plugged in correctly? You can use a webcam, and on some computers, a DV camera.
- Is your camera currently used by another application, for example Skype, in a different browser window? If yes, close that application.
- Have you installed all necessary drivers?
-
Did you authorize Flash Player?
-
Is the correct camera selected? (To find out which camera you need to select, please consult the manual of your camera.)
-
Audio is not working! Why?
In the Live Web Teaching Room: You must click on the microphone icon on the top left, and allow the Flash Player to access your microphone.
In this system test: If the microphone level is not moving (just below the video above), your microphone does not work or is not detected by the Flash Player. Check the following:
- Does your computer have an internal microphone or are you using an external one? If external, did you connect it correctly?
- Is your microphone currently used by another application, for example Skype, in a different browser window? If yes, close that application.
- Did you select the correct microphone?
- Have you installed all necessary drivers?
- Did you authorize Flash Player?
- If you are using Windows, did you select the correct audio source? Is the volume set correctly?
-
What is the Flash Player & how can I check if I have the latest version?
The Flash Player is a free browser plugin from Adobe that enables the Live Teaching Room to work. Adobe continuously releases improved versions of the Flash Player to enhance audio and video quality. If your Flash Player version is not up-to-date, the video and audio may not work, or its quality will suffer.
- Check if you have the latest Flash Player here.
- Download and install the newest Flash Player here. It's free, fast and easy to install!
- Still not working? Check out the Flash Player Help and Support page from Adobe.
-
Where can I buy a great webcam?
The video and audio quality of your live session depends in large part on the webcam and headset you use. We recommend these webcams with integrated microphone and headsets.
-
What if I don't have a webcam or I do not want to use video in my live sessions?
No problem. You can hold a session without video, solely through audio, chat and by sharing your documents and your desktop.
-
How do I show documents in my live sessions?
You can upload documents, for example presentations and PDFs, during the live session.
