• About the Global Warming Challenge

  What is the Wacom Challenge?
  The Global Warming Challenge is about sharing your personal tips and tricks on how to reduce global warming and CO2 emissions. This challenge provides you with an opportunity to make a useful contribution to stall Global Warming by broadcasting your advice to a huge worldwide audience. Your skills-video can be about any Global Warming related topic, from how to recycle to energy saving advice.

• Why participate?
  You can show everyone how important and easy it is help reduce Global Warming. Your video will make a great impact. Many people don’t know and think that Global Warming is a responsibility of big industry. For example, hardly anybody knows that

  • each mile you do not drive your car, you will save one pound of carbon dioxide,
  • moving your thermostat down two degrees in the winter and up two degrees in the summer makes for an annual carbon dioxide reduction of 2000 pounds in a typical home,
  • planting 1 single tree will absorb one ton of carbon dioxide over the tree’s lifetime.

• What’s the award?
  Well, the real award is a better live for Mother Earth, and all of today’s and tomorrow’s inhabitants. But we are helping out a little! You can win the following awards, if your videos become popular and a lot of people see and vote for them.

  Grand Prize: 2 Xtra-Cycle, the world best and first Sports-Utility Bicycle accessory, because for each mile you do not drive your car, you will save one pound of carbon dioxide.
  Minimum requirement to win this prize: 20000 views and 100 votes.

  Runner’s-up prizes: 50 Ulmus Americana Seeds (American Elm) because 1 single tree will absorb one ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime.
  Minimum requirement to win this prize: 2000 views and 20 votes.

• Who can participate?
  Any user of Sclipo. You can participate by uploading or registering a Global Warming video tutorial.

• What videos can participate in the Challenge?
  Your video must show a tutorial that demonstrates how-to Reduce Global Warming. You could shoot a video using a camcorder or webcam, or you could video capture your screen using screen recording software. You may also take single screenshots and assemble them into a video file. Your videos can show any action, advise, technique, tool or material related to reducing Global Warming, like for example in the areas of recycling or energy saving.

• What is required to submit a video to the challenge?
  

  • A free Sclipo account.
  • You must own all copyright rights to the video you submit.
  • The video must not exceed 100 MB in size.
  • The video must not exceed 5 minutes in length.
  • No profanity, nudity, or crass behavior is allowed.
  • It must comply to the Sclipo Term of Use and terms of the Global Warming Challenge.

• About how to participate in the Global Warming Challenge

  How can I promote my video to foster my chances to win?
  There are many easy ways to get the word going about your video:

  • Email the URL of your video all your friends and encourage them to view and evaluate the video.
  • Post your videos on your blog. Just copy & paste embed html code from your video page.
  • Ask your friends to submit your video to social networking sites, like for example digg.com, reddit, or del.icio.us.
  • Talk about your video in forums and chat rooms.

• How do I upload my video and register it to the Challenge?
  In 3 easy steps:

  1. Log in or Join to get your free account at Sclipo. This will grant you access to extra tools on our website, such as your personal dashboard where you’ll be able to store your own and favorite videos.
  2. Click on the uploadVideo link. You need to be logged in with your username to upload, therefore (1).
  3. On the uploadVideo page mark the checkbox for the Global Warming Challenge, and upload your video.

• Can I register a video posted on another site?
  Yes. No need to make new videos if you already have cool videos posted somewhere on the Internet. Just upload and register them (see above). Do not forget to include ‘Global Warming’ within the title and tags and mention the tools that you are demonstrating within the description.

  As many as you like.

  Your personal information will not be shared and will be held fully confidential. The personal information collected in the Challenge is subject to the Sclipo privacy policy and Challenge Terms at http://www.sclipo.com/info/privacy.htm.
