  1. What is Sclipo?
Sclipo is a social learning network for teaching through video & webcam, and meeting people of common interests. At Sclipo, people and organizations can teach students, friends or customers by uploading educational videos (tutorials, how-tos, lectures, etc.) as well as through live, personalized webcam classes.

  2. What are the benefits of Sclipo compared to other educational webs?
At Sclipo you learn through video. Before Sclipo, online learning was text-based. However, real life learning is audio-visual. That’s why people go to school – to see and listen to the teacher. At Sclipo, you can learn from thousands of videos. To make the distance learning experience even more real, Sclipo allows you to take personalized, live classes with other members through our live webcam system called SclipoLive.

At Sclipo you can socialize while learning. Before Sclipo, learning on the web was a one-way experience: you read an educational text, but you could hardly interact with teachers or students. However, real life learning is all about socializing. Sclipo allows you to connect with teachers and students to form relationships based upon common learning interests.

At Sclipo anybody can teach anything (well, almost). Before Sclipo, you had to be accredited to teach stuff with massive demand. At Sclipo, anybody can offer her wisdom – we leave it up to the community to decide what’s good. You can also teach about anything (if legal), regardless of whether you want to reach a million students or just teach your son to wash his shirt.

At Sclipo you can earn a living. Sclipo will be offering many premium features for which teachers can charge their students. For now, you can charge for teaching personalized classes through our live webcam system called SclipoLive. SclipoLive also allows you to easily schedule appointments and even record your classes.

  8. What is the best format for uploading?
MPEG4 (Divx, Xvid) format at a resolution of 320x240 with an MP3 audio compression works well. If you do this there is less chance of an error taking place when your video is compressed to the FLV format.

  9. How long will my video take to upload?
Depending on your connection speed and the size of the video, it can take anywhere from a few minutes to several hours to upload a video. Generally, if you have a high-speed Internet connection you can expect the upload to take somewhere between 1-5 minutes for every 1MB. However, the experience is different for every user because of the variation in connection speeds.
